The wedding industry is very competitive and many wedding consultants start
out on their own after receiving their training from a company or association
that does not provide them the guidance and support needed to survive. The

Role of a U.S. Event
Guide wedding consultant
After a bride is assigned to you,
you will meet with her to learn as much as possible about her dreams for her
wedding day. Once this information has been gathered, you will begin
researching vendors, determining their availability for the wedding date and
begin booking resources as soon as possible. Should the bride need a wedding
consultant present on her wedding day, you will be responsible for handling all
necessary arrangements for the big day!
Our first responsibility is to the
bride and groom. Ultimately, the bride determines exactly what help she will
need from the wedding planner. The following lists some of the tasks we take
care of as professional wedding coordinators:
1. Determine and maintain the
overall budget
2. Setting and attending vendor appointments with the bride, such as:
3. Ceremony and Reception Site Selection
4. Caterer (If necessary)
5. Bridal Salon dress selections (I can’t believe they spelled Bridal like
a
horse’s bridle!!!)
6. Florist, Decor or Production Company
7. Entertainment (Band or DJ)
8. Musicians for Ceremony
9. Photographer
10. Videographer
11. Baker
12. Officiant
13. Calligrapher
l4. Wedding Day Transportation
15. Review all vendor contracts for accuracy
16. Constant Communication with all selected Bridal Vendors
17. Assistance with Invitations, Favors and Accessories
18. Assistance with “Save the Date” cards/letters
19. Assist with Rehearsal Dinner organization
20. Assist with Accommodations
21. Handle shipping and receiving for vendors needing to send wedding items
22. Wedding Day Director Service (Orchestrating and directing their Rehearsal
and Ceremony, while working side by side with the officiant and other vendors
We are also there to:
- Be an
efficiency expert and organizer, advising and minimizing anxiety when plans
seem a little overwhelming
- Help them
understand costs and services and professional lingo
- Work side by
side with the other vendors to ensure the day flows smoothly
- Be an
advocate who works on their behalf to get the best services, quality, and
prices
- Oversee all
the work done by vendors (whether the vendors were recommended by me or not)
- Anticipate
problems before they arise and solve them, most times without the bride and
groom even knowing about them
- Handle last
minute details or errands
-
Prepare schedules and itineraries for the vendors
- Be a
mediator to run interference between vendors and family members

been invited

family situations or emotional decisions
